Greene County district court, week ending June 14

In Greene County district court Jocob Robert Stewart, 32, of Fort Dodge was sentenced June 11 to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault, amended from assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. Stewart was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. He must pay restitution not to exceed $500 for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $187.76 court costs.

In a magistrate case against Stewart a charge of domestic abuse assault was amended to disorderly conduct- abusive epithet/threatening gesture. He was sentenced to two days in jail, consecutive to the days in the district court case. He was also fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge. Court costs were $95.50 in that case. Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Wayne Eugene Royer, 43, of Scranton, sex offender area/activity violation; Rahni Rexann Brower, 40, of Carroll, unlawful possess of prescription drug- two counts, and unlawful possession of prescribed controlled substance- two counts; and Steven Bret Wetzel, 53, of Jefferson, fraudulent practice- third degree. Trial dates were set for July 23 for Royer and Wetzel, and for Oct. 1 for Brower.

A case was initiated in district court against Aiden Randall Steger, 18, of Carroll, possession of marijuana.
